Beauty Beyond Boundaries

They say that the world and all its countries were once a one big piece of land until the nature took it’s course and split it into several continents, sub-continents, countries and islands. All of them have different cultures, languages, races and lifestyles. What did not differ was their sense of being, urge to evolve and aspirations to look their best. Many things have been revolutionized since the time immemorable. From machines to fashion and transportation to gadgets, everything has seen a tremendous evolution and changes. But in the meanwhile, somewhere in the race to be at the top the world had its population divided in various ways. History saw several events like wars, political evolution and shift of power from Europe to the extreme west; in the same duration several roles were decided for males and females. This division in terms of gender roles led to creation of several stereotypes and the world sees the aftermath of those until now.
Professions, fashion and beauty: everything was categorized for different genders. Historically, heel-shoes were designed for men and so were the kohls in the sub-continent of Egypt but gradually it transcended to be the things to be adorned only by the women. Not just that but many things were said to be too feminine to be in a man’s interest. We wonder where did this kind of extremism and division had its roots. Who in the heaven woke up one day and decided to categorize the sense of self-love, self-care and self-impression only for one gender? Did not they want to look good? Or did it all come as an outcome of a terrible break-up of someone in power and they decided to punish the other half of the population and wanted them to never be able to look their best? Was it you, Victoria?
Coming back to the 21st century from bashing Victoria for something that she might haven’t done, the bright side is that today its us who decide for ourselves and entering into 2025, we don’t want to be dwelling in the horror stories of past. It is not about the gender norms set in the era we were not even a part of. Moreover, who doesn’t like to hide their demons and dark circles? A good glowing face is as important as a good giant pay cheque. Self-love, Self-expression, confidence and self-care aren’t for just one gender. These are basic emotions that every human being deserves to have. Succumbing to the archaic gender norms and terrible set of stereotypes won’t help any of us. Let’s get over the “beauty lies in the beholder’s eye”. Because beauty lies in the wholesome skin rituals and a good set of vanity kit. Sure! Inner beauty does matter but isn’t it all about what meets the eye first? Let’s take a moment and realize that it is all about the first impression. It’s unfortunate but that’s how it works. You don’t believe me? Try giving a truth serum to your philosopher guide or spiritual guru, they will be vouching for it too. From career aspirations to romantic ones, everything starts at the way we carry ourselves. And aspirations aren’t for just one of genders; it is for all of us and we all have ambitions. Let’s break the shackles of stereotypes and let us know about your skin-care regime. Because like love, beauty sees no boundaries.
